Commercial PAT testing

Commercial PAT testing built around the equipment and environment.

Commercial PAT testing in Birmingham with risk-led appliance inspection, electrical testing, asset records and clear defect reporting for business premises.

A useful equipment record—not a sticker-only exercise.

BES plans portable-appliance inspection and testing around the type of equipment, how it is used, the environment, previous results and the client's maintenance arrangements.

The output records the equipment covered, results and items requiring attention so facilities teams can act on the information rather than simply collect labels.

01

Risk-led scope

Equipment type, use, environment and previous findings considered when the programme is planned.

02

Traceable results

Assets and test outcomes recorded in a format suitable for the agreed site or portfolio scope.

03

Clear failures

Failed or damaged equipment identified so the client can isolate, repair or replace it appropriately.

01

PAT testing for offices, retail, hospitality and operational sites

Quantities, equipment mix, labelling expectations, access and working hours are confirmed before attendance. Multi-site programmes can use a consistent asset and reporting structure.

  • Visual inspection and electrical testing where appropriate
  • Asset identification, labels and electronic results
  • Office IT, kitchen equipment, portable tools and site-specific appliances
  • Normal-hours or out-of-hours attendance
  • Volume-based initial budgets for known item quantities
02

Annual testing is not a blanket legal rule for every appliance

The Health and Safety Executive states that electrical equipment must be maintained to prevent danger, but the law does not prescribe annual PAT testing for every item. The appropriate checks and frequency depend on the equipment, environment and previous results.

Frequently asked questions

Commercial questions, answered clearly.

How much does commercial PAT testing cost in Birmingham?

The budget depends mainly on item quantity, equipment mix, locations, working hours and whether a suitable asset list already exists. Known quantities can be priced through the BES estimator.

Does every appliance need PAT testing every year?

No blanket annual interval applies to every item. The maintenance approach should reflect equipment type, use, environment and previous inspection or test results.

Can BES complete PAT testing across multiple sites?

Yes. A consistent asset, labelling and reporting format can be agreed for a multi-site programme.
